Outcape is looking for a skilled and professional Safety Coordinator to join the team in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator develops, administers, implements, and evaluates occupational safety programs across divisions, departments, and job sites.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate safety orientation, safety training, inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities.

  • Perform job-site safety compliance inspections, including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, reports, and recommendations.

  • Provide guidance to field personnel through briefings, coaching, corrective actions, and practical safety support.

  • Monitor adherence to safety programs by employees and subcontractors.

  • Support timely accident, injury, and damage reporting.

  • Help maintain compliance platforms, safety documentation, and COR certifications.

  • Partner with project managers to embed safety standards into daily planning and operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3–5 years of occupational health and safety experience.

  • NCSO designation recommended; NLCSA COR experience is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of OH&S legislation and construction industry regulations.

  • Valid driver’s licence with clean driving abstract.

  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, communication, and coaching skills.

  • Willingness to travel to job sites and off-site locations as needed.
